My interest in photography started before I entered high school. That would be in the late 80?s, if you’re trying to get a feel for the longevity of my interest in photography. In the beginning I was more interested in just pushing the button and hearing the click than I was concerned for composition. It wasn’t until college that I started bringing my camera everywhere I went, taking pictures of some of the oddest things and sometimes at the most in opportune times. It was also in college where I took my first photography class in Black & White Film Composition and Development Techniques. I was captivated from the first moment I watched one of my photograps appear as a print in the developer dish in the darkroom; and some would say I never left the darkroom. The “Digital Darkroom” was also introduced to me during the early years of my college career. I have since left the “analog” darkroom in preference for the more convenient digital workflow found in Photoshop and Lightroom.
After high-school, I graduated with a college degree in Electronic Engineering, and worked as an Electronic Design Engineer for the Government and other private industry companies. During the same time, my photography develeoped as a parallel career.
HDR landscapes and portraits comprise the majority of my work, but I also work in graphic and website design.
I love photography for a variety of reasons. The stimulation and excitement of responding to new situations satisfies both my analytical and creative sides, and I also truly love working with people. I get real pleasure from sharing the happiness with the people that I photograph, and knowing that I’m creating images that will evoke wonderful memories for a lifetime.
My style tends to be a little photo-journalistic. So don’t be surprised if you hear the camera’s shutter release between poses. It is during these candid moments that I have captured some of my best images. I will incorporate several different settings, poses and even changes of clothing (customer supplied) to provide a variety of images to choose from as well as give you a break from the spot-light – to keep things fresh. Your session will be customized to meet your needs.
